Text: Top Reads of the Year, 3 Text: How to Survive This Fairytale | S. M. Hallow | Fantasy | Horror | Romance God, this was good. It’s a fairy tale retelling done right, building up a world that can be nasty and cruel, but at the center of it all there are people who lead with compassion, heart, and who offer encouragement to keep going. This book is ruthless in the best way, and I especially appreciate the way it’s written. I love when authors play with structure and form, and this book is such a good example of what can be done by having fun with writing.
