Bush literally ran in 04’ on an amendment to abolish same-sex marriage so things were even more grim because even the libs were squishy on gay rights. Obama was a civil unions guy in 08’ . LGBT activists were able to accomplish a total cultural victory on that front though, so i keep hopemaxing
