#HarpersIsland: 6/10.
Cookie cutter lite network slasher was much more fun because I consumed it alongside all its legacy multimedia tie-ins.
Late 2000's network TV feels deader today than anything networks made in the decades prior.

2009: 13 x US TV eps [❌yet to even look for]
2009: 13 x Webisodes of "Harper's Globe" [✔️YouTube]
Another show of which I know nothing whatsoever.

As well as #Buffy, #ScoobyDoo, #TheGhostBusters, #FreakyLinks, #TheATeam, #PrettlyLIttleLiars, #HarpersIsland and #TheLoneGunmen vibes from this show already I now can add yet another show:
As we are doing "supernatural" jungle pulp so this is alslo #TombRaider!

The woman being raped was Ali Liebert who was just in my #HarpersIsland walkthrough.
I'm a bit more optimistic this ep but it does feel like an early superpowers TV show that actually predates "Heroes". It doesn't feel as comic book-y as "Heroes" which knew what it wanted.

Whereas I love the format and following along on the in-universe 2016 Twitter a/cs but unlike the #HarpersIsland Webisode series this story has like no energy or scares. It's kinda got nothing going on sadly.

Do I recommend?
In many ways the experience was lightning in a bottle. The many multimedia elements were by far the best thing about this but mostly weren't preserved nor recreatable. The TV show is mostly fine at best but is pretty disposable in isolation.

For me it ended in failure as Wakefield's involvement in Robin's prior life wasn't explained.
However the show's multimedia experience was fab. Though little is preserved in 2025 I did my best. This video shows what it was like:

I searched the Harpers Globe website and there's nothing really after this The multimedia discussions aren't preserved and the in-universe Twitter account just kinda end in a heap. It's like CBS just stopped giving a shit the second it aired on TV.

Robin faked her death. Her tormentor was Wakefield but there's no motivation given. So why Wakefield was involved in her car crash originally?
The TV show ended well, this didn't.

Well it's not great is it? I liked that the last ep ended after 25 minutes leaving a 20 minute aftermath sequence. Otherwise it's all underwhelming fare. I did like that the writers would actually kill anyone.

So the last ep will be Abby/Chris/Madison/Jimmy/Katherine vs Henry/Wakefield. I am more excited for the webisode resolution but it's good that everything is now resolved in the somewhat opaque TV plot. Ironically the webisode series is more up in the air than ever.

They were making such a big fuss of Jimmy being the plant that the accomplice could only really be Henry, Katherine or Trish. The show could've had anyone as the baddie to be fair as Agatha Christie this ain't.

I'm not sure how this resolves with just one ep to go. There isn't really an identity on the killer yet and the methods used in these webisodes don't facilitate explanations so who knows? Maybe Robin explains it all in the final ep but I fear disappointment.

Robin seemingly hangs herself in the Globe office before Wakefield turns up. Is he going to save her? He appears to be clued in on the backstory.
The night of the crash appears to show that the car was exploded by Dangerous Wreck not by Robin. But she did a runner.
