Fuji GX680 with Ilford XP2 - very impressed with the detail and fine grain - Top of Incline, Dinorwig Quarry, Snowdonia

The GX680 was a fun but very unusual camera that couldn't quite decide what it wanted to be. It was a truly gigantic beast of a medium format SLR camera providing (limited) view camera movements. It used 120-format roll film with a 6x8cm frame (so a 3:4 aspect ratio), with a built-in autowinder […]

Captured with a Fuji GX680 camera, 80mm lens, T-Max 100 film. Some tilt was applied to control focus. It was very dark in there, and focusing required the use of a flashlight.

The Pennsylvania Avenue Subway was built to provide a sub-grade freight connection between the Reading Railroad's main […]

Generally it's a toss-up between my Bronica ETRSi, my Lomo Diana Instant, and whatever weirdness I'm currently playing with.

As of yesterday, that'd be this thing:

Took the beast out for a spin Friday. Need to use it more! It's such a cool camera but I am painfully unfamiliar with it. Rather slow and clumsy with it compared to my regularly used cameras.

Got a new tripod specifically for my GX680. It's wild how tall it gets! I'm going to need to carry a step stool with me lol

Yeah I love to do street photography with a seven pound camera why do you ask
August 28, 2025 at 3:12 PM
obviously much broader context at play, but this still isn't inconsistent with the median "just got a gx680" experience

Holy crap a GX680! Congrats!! How great is it? I’ve always been dreaming of one. Currently have a RB67 Pro S

Yeah I'm trying to get two new lenses for my GX680 and I'm looking at the 50mm and 115mm. I want the wiiiiide lens so bad
August 22, 2025 at 3:00 PM
I’ve had a GSW690III in the past, but found the lens too distorted towards the edges, a longer focal length would have been fine, now have the GM670, a GX680 and a 6x6TLR so have most bases covered, That 100mm lens is lovely though, super sharp

Yeah someone’s mentioned a GX680, which sounded like a good idea until I saw the photo!
August 6, 2025 at 12:09 PM
I've played with one. It's considerably smaller than a 4x5.

Just remembered the Fuji GX680 but that will definitely be heavier than your Wista!

Does the GX680 have inbuilt rise / shift?
