More Labour dissappiontment

"The Government has no plans to ban driven grouse shooting. It recognises well-managed grouse shooting can be an important part of a local rural economy, providing direct and indirect employment."

@rspb.bsky.social I’m concerned about your position on this. I’m currently a member but will be reconsidering over next day or so #grouseshooting
This is so mistaken and perverse. We need a BAN on driven grouse shooting. Not licensing, which gives a stamp of approval to an activity that will always be destructive and cruel.
What is the RSPB for?
We need grouse moor licensing in England now.

It's time for new legislation to make it happen.

I'm afraid that is the point - the pleasure is atavistic, for chest-beating cavemen (and that's just the women?🤔)

I don't get why licensing, as advocated by @Natures_Voice, is seen as taboo? If you have nothing to hide, you needn't worry?#GrouseShooting

Would however be disingenuous of me to deny that certain practices do benefit some species. Black Grouse, waders, hmm. #GrouseShooting

Postulation - if driven #GrouseShooting is what's best for uplands, why've we not told other nations that's the way to conserve them?

#GrouseShooting debate - 'where are the peer reviewed studies that show hen harriers suffer on grouse moors" - are you kidding me!!!!

Lost for words watching the #GrouseShooting debate: vested interests, nonsense and scaremongering. Good point made on alternatives though.
