Raptor recovery… Marsh Harrier, Goshawk, White-tailed Eagle and Osprey have all increased substantially over recent decades. Ospreys have colonised new counties at the rate of one a year, including Co. Fermanagh in 2023, the first breeding on the island of Ireland in 200 yrs #ukbirding #ornithology

Peregrines are now also common victims of secondary poisoning by rodenticides; they eat pigeons, doves and corvids which access poisoned bait stations which are ubiquitous in urban environments wildlifepoisoningresearchuk.wordpress.com/wp-content/u... #UKBirding #Ornithology

Willow Tits at new low, no nestlings ringed at all, just 6 nests monitored. Ringed Marsh Tit halved from 2010. No Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers ringed in UK for 2nd yr running.

Red Kite nesting in Sherwood Forest! I grew up about 30mins away from there. I could never of dreamt of being able to see them when I was a kids. So amazing that kids around there will now be able to experience them. Well done to all involved with there recovery.
