#glaciation
The close and frequent connection of the different buildings made it likely that we might cross from one to another on bridges underneath the ice, except where impeded by local collapses and geologic rifts, for very little glaciation seemed to have entered the massive constructions.

A small victory, the revamped Sandy Beach hill has thus far resisted its usual glaciation. Water is draining away nicely.

Okay so reading the Hirantain Glaciation wikipedia has sent my brain spinning. So many wild hypotheses. The Rings of Earth! Thanks for sending me there 😅

Thanks for sharing this post - super interesting! We recently submitted a paper with a very similar theme, where we characterize a short fault scarp in the interior of the Canadian Cordillera. It's also a mature and slowly-deforming orogen with recent glaciation, making paleoseismology challenging!

My Glaciation drains heat from any and all things, snuffing out fires as if they were doused with water.

❄️ Marked by the onset of large scale Antarctica glaciation, the EOT marks a key pivot point in Cenozoic climate history towards the development of the modern climate system. ❄️

Quaternary Glaciation Accelerates Speciation in Aquatic Snakes Through Recent Bottlenecks
Climatic fluctuations during glacial periods have profoundly shaped the demographic history and gene flow dynamics of many taxa. This study integrated high-throughput sequencing of 67 individuals wit...

i remember on a bus trip from detroit to gainesville fl to see my wife, the dirt was suddenly bright red-orange at around where we crossed the state line into georgia; colour shift took less than a mile. wondered ever since why the division in soil colours was so stark like that. finally i know!

At the time travelers meetup:

Guy from 1995: “I really just think it’s so interesting that thirty years from my time, people will have solved global warming so thoroughly that Americans are mad about glaciation”

Guy from 2035: “Oh fuck how do I explain this without spoilers”

We had 'float" copper near and on the surface after the glaciation period ended here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The natives found this and traded it with people who spread UP copper far and wide. Here is the Ontonogon Boulder -more in ALT
