The spirit we’ll be talking about for this #folklorefriday is from German folklore. While many spirits are elven or tiny people, the Puk is a two-foot-long dragon. Some depictions of the Puk have wings and others have a fiery tail. All have a serpentine body and the standard four legs.

Sharing the final version of my Ceffyl Dwr for #FolkloreFriday. Absolutely loved making this needle felt creation and getting really into the wire frame modelling

It’s #folklorefriday and the last day of October. So, let’s wrap up the month with a fun little grab bag. Let’s start with an odd superstition. If you wear you clothes inside out, you risk being beat up.

We’re going on the road for today’s #folklorefriday to cover some highway ghosts. There are thousands of ghosts that are claimed to roam the U.S. alone, let alone the world. You could write several books on just these ghosts alone.

It’s another wonderful #folklorefriday and today we’ll be talking about Black Cats. These felines have long been associated in Western culture with bad luck and evil. But where did this reputation come from?

To know a pond is some 30-foot at its deepest, has a surface area of nearly 12 hectacres is thing. To know it has pike another. However, only with a layer of folkloric knowing comes the wisdom and wonder that it's home to a Stay Below. – #CLNolan #FolkloreFriday

It’s another #folklorefriday and I’ve got some eerie and tragic ghost stories for all you ghouls and goblins out there. In Bellbrook, Ohio there is Little Sugar Creek. Like most creeks it is not very big, but it is home to at least two ghosts.

Legend is female Druids of the county did not disappear during Roman occupation, but instead melded with the forests to become its Green Ladies, its Moss Maidens. A historian will tell you this is nonsense. A folklorist will merely tell you stories hold impossible truths. - #CLNolan #FolkloreFriday

It’s a slightly belated #folklorefriday as I was out of spoons for the past few days. I am sorry about that. The first superstition we’ll talk about is knocking on wood. In America if you say or do something taboo that would bring bad luck, you knock on the nearest piece of wood.

For our last Appalachian #folklorefriday we will be talking about The Gray Man. There are two Gray Men in American folklore: The Appalachian Gray Man and The Gray Man of Pawleys Island.

For this week’s Appalachian #folklorefriday I need to introduce you to a term that you may not be familiar with: Haint. This term comes from the Gulla Geechee also called Gullah. These people are the descendants of enslaved African Americans.

#FolkloreFriday starts with a question:

If you could ask ONE question to any folklore character, who and what?

🕷️ Ananse: How to outsmart anyone?
🐢 Tortoise: Is patience always worth it?
🦁 Lion: How to lead?

Rethinking my Mari Llwyd from last year to give her more strength and support with a stronger wire frame. Still need to get the make time down if going to produce to sell but loving her development. Folk horror meets cottage core vibes 🤣 #FolkloreFriday #MariLlwyd #needlefelt

If not for all the wonderful content on the various folklore days of the week, I really doubt I'd stick around on social media. Cheers to #MythologyMonday #WyrdWednesday #FairyTaleTuesday #LegendaryWednesday #FolkloreFriday #Myth&Folklore and others for adding magic & mystery to my days & nights.

It’s another #folklorefriday and we’re hiking the Appalachian trail all the way up to Maryland to learn about the Snallygaster.

It's #folklorefriday and all this month we will be covering tales from Appalachia.

We'll be looking at ghost stories, strange creatures, cursed towns, and even a cryptid or two.

But let's start with some background information about Appalachia itself.

Augtober continues with another spooky piece of folklore. This is a micro-story which draws on the belief that demons and spirits prefer empty buildings and waste spaces. There was a common belief that late at night, the dead came to shul to pray...

It's #folklorefriday !
(I will make this a thing)

Today were covering the Wampus Cat.
A panther that is often described as being larger than usual, with glowing eyes, and six legs.

It is found in Southeastern and Northwestern American folklore.
