My docblock Michelle from HD is growing a new leaf. Look at how gorgeous that is ! And it's got a Lil baby inflo!

The majority of DocBlock parsers work on already parsed code, or just raw comment strings.

PXP is unique as it parses the DocBlocks at the same time as regular PHP code. Surprisingly, this is more performant as it doesn't need to traverse the entire AST to analyse and process DocBlocks!

When your function expects a path fragment string as a parameter, you MUST specify, explicitly, if it should have a leading, trailing, or neither forward slash. If you do not say *explicitly in the docblock of that exact function/method*, then you are ...

One neat thing I’m doing is actually extracting a docblock comment from the top of each example file and parsing it as markdown, so each example can have a really nice intro that is colocated with the code.

Any time I can eliminate a docblock in my code, I go for it. Here's another relatively new addition to Laravel that let me clean up a some docblocks in my form requests. masteringlaravel.io/daily/2024-1...

Really loving the fact that DocBlock Michelle anthuriums are popping up in big box plant stores, but I can’t unsee the 🌮 where the lobes meet.

I love it when a colleague asks me about the purpose of some short class I've written and I'm able to provide a satisfactory answer by copy+pasting the class docblock. This is why you write documentation, kids.

Got the DocBlock Michelle for free!
I am in Texas and finally spotted these anthuriums. They all had cosmetic damage and I always ask for a discount at big box stores if they are damaged(there is a leaf not shown that was torn). The manager couldn't believe how expensive they were and scanned it and said Merry Christmas. I was like so what's the discount? She said Merry Christmas and I started to tear up 🥹😂. It was such a crazy day because I just got back from visiting my uncle that is in hospice. I hugged the workers lol and told them about the plant.

As an example: My personal blog (Next.js/RSC) also exposes a GraphQL server: jordaneldredge.com/api/graphql/

I just sprinkled some (68 according to grep) `@gql*` docblock tags around and got it for free by running `npx grats`.

PXP is also capable of understanding "array shapes", after some parser updates.

Only a few more DocBlock-specific types to go before I _think_ it has full coverage!

The same people that won't bother to update a docblock when arguments change, have decided we need to document our API by manually writing a few hundred lines of PHP attributes in each controller method.

In #phpstorm, I started a docblock above a class named `MarkdownToHtmlConverter`. The class is fully written; all the logic is already in place, and PhpStorm prompted me to “Generate with AI Assistant” the text of the docblock, so I decided to give it a try. This is what it generated:

Slowly getting back into development on PXP – left it sitting for quite a while and I've found some end-of-year energy to work on it again.

Currently writing a DocBlock parser so that you get that oh so sweet type checking and autocompletion. Long-term goal is support for all of PHPStan's types...
