We had a fun couple of hours prototyping the field guide on historical rephotography that we’re making for the #digifren project, drawing on postdoc Malin’s high school training in arts and design and the Layers of Time collage workshop I attended with Yannick Lowery in Philly last October.

Reading the news from Poland. I should have been in Krakow now, traveling home from the CHANSE closing conference, but it turned out I couldn’t go after all. Several from the DigiFREN project team is stuck there, including my postdoc. Hoping it’ll calm down, but travel will be chaos for a while.

Every year the Greenhouse hosts a number of events. For example, in the spring, the research project DigiFREN (funded by the CHANSE program) met with the entire European project group, on 28-29 May.

Right now I am at the CHANSE midterm conference #diginetworks in Bucuresti, Romania, representing the DigiFREN project where I’m a co-PI leading the Norwegian team, which works with historical rephotography as a way of connecting communities to fragile environments in change.

I would be doing something on rephotography and public engagement based on our DigiFREN project on historical rephotography.

Today we took a long walk in Sørmarka next to campus in order to test out rephotography methods. We are doing this as part of the DigiFREN project that explores how digital technologies and media are part of people’s experience of landscapes in change.
