The way I hit follow on you so fast because YES !!!! I’ve been trying across three chapters and two predictions to say something like this especially around how social media served as a public archive and how while defed has good points it’s missing that key aspect

My other concern is that venture capitalism already has a helluva track record (trying to) enclose and paywall cultural heritage.
Institutional archives are already elitist by nature. Techno-archives will be a privacy and authenticity nightmare.

i've silenced the most annoying HOA instances and i think i have defederated one or two absolutely unbearable ones, plus they too share their block lists.

There is/was a bot taking furry Twitter accounts and cloning them exactly via an API bot to Mast. Nothing could be done

there's some instances with patreons but it's mostly volunteer. I think the biggest thing is it'd decentralized so if an instance is spewing nazi propaganda or terf shit you defederate from them and defed from people that maintain relationships with them
