when people are composing graphics for broadcast or subtitles for home video or whatever they actually have sizing standards that take into account the fact that people have to read these, with their eyes. a wide range of people. this just doesn't fuckin exist for huge swathes of games.

I wonder what happened to Hitoshi Sakimoto in the 2010s. After Dragon's Crown, he rarely worked as a composer (with the notable exception of 13 Sentinels), but since last year he has been (co-)composing the soundtracks for 4-5 games a year (to my delight).

I’ve done graduate work in museology (& curated exhibitions). Y’all, the basic principles of composing/hanging wall installations (including wall texts) are really not complex at all. This is just bad taste w/out regard for elemental principles of organization that grade schoolers can grasp. Crazy.

I occasionally get a little discouraged with my endeavors, specifically in music
It can be hard to sit down and focus on composing, or practicing, and I feel like I fall behind or stagnate because of it.
