I love the reveal in unpotting these caudiciforms. It’s like a box of chocolates. That roof exposing itself through the bottom of the pot was a good indicator though by Floratopia

I had to dig up a few of my caudiciforms yesterday for the upcoming freeze in Houston. I couldn't take a chance of losing these mature specimens. Cephalopentandra ecirrhosa on the left and Momordica rostrata on the right, both are members of the cucumber family. They have been growing in the ground for about 3 years by nightsuns

It might not be the best group of caudiciforms but a hard growing, time, sun and very minimal watering will yield beautiful specimens in the future!by Lollysussything

"growing hard": Feed once a year or even don't; keep in soil-free, airy substrate; when you think it needs water, it usually doesn't.

Ooh, I'd love a herbarium series! A question for a future installment, perhaps--I used to work in a vert museum, so I understand cataloging, but have always been confused about pressings... Doesn't flattening limit your view of the plant? How do pressings show 3D info for succulents/ caudiciforms?
