In NA it’s because insanely relaxed fuel standards allowed automakers to get by with making mini-tanks at a wildly profitable margin. And consumers became hooked on them, so it’s all they make now.

Too expensive and too little mileage. The mistake the automakers have made with EVs is the price. Cut back on the features and give it decent mileage and an affordable price.

Hopefully the consumer will demand, & automakers will see competitive advantage & respond, (until there are regulatory mandates). Also, insurance companies have a role to play in assessing higher premiums for vehicles emburdened with touch screens.

Chinese EV tariffs are a result of Ford/GM lobbying started under Trump and increased under Biden at those automakers behest, president doesn’t really matter when GM/Ford are strong arming both parties, they’re the issue 🤙🏽
