The vulture arc especially was the first time I realised comics could tell emotional stories. And the emotion was beautifully portrayed with his instantly recognisable sharp lines; these issues stayed in my head for decades (and I only recently re-read after getting a collected edition of his run)

A Chinese porcelain bowl decorated with blue petal-form cartouches of floral sprays along the rim and above the blue-lined base and with blue petal decoration on the center of the interior. Probably Ming Dynasty, circa 1600 or earlier. Roughly potted and decorated but it has some charm.
MARKS No marks. MEASUREMENTS 3 1/4” (8.3 cm) in height, 6 1/4“ (16 cm) in diameter. PROVENANCE Doyle, New York, Sale 25AS01, Asian Works of Art, 18 March 2025, lot 188. Some light wear on the greenish glaze. Nicely-painted interior, if a bit rough.
