Trying #radicale to selfhost my calendar and addressbook and having a pretty terrible time. Every calendar action takes 10 seconds even to radicale running on localhost because apparently Thunderbird sends the entire calendar at once on every update wtf. 🤦

Great, an amazing chain of events and maybe unfortunate UI design in #davx5 resulted in me deleting our shared #carddav addressbook - server side, no backups (no mercy) of course. My rescue attemps of copying contacts around in #thunderbird (why does 'export' make an effing lossy CSV without […]

This is important

Their access to our information is wrong

The govt will complain but simple solutions

Like

Make us turn on - sell/share my information/location - rather than working hard to try to turn it off

No sharing of personal information from "your addressbook"

It is immensely disappointing that the European Parliament manages to defend and support former Commissioner #ThierryBreton, a wealthy, privileged old man who's addressbook is full of powerful friends.

While it not even mentions in passing (let alone defends) the cash-strapped #civilsociety […]

Another element of the horrors? USPS.com appears broken when you try to do a shipping label. I tried firefox and chrome, same "An error occurred. Please try again" message pops up all over the website if you try to do a shipment or edit your addressbook. Is it just me? @uspostal.bsky.social

When he was arrested they went after everyone in mum's addressbook. This meant, as she is both Jewish and from London, that a wide range of very unsuspecting and clueless people around Barnet were raided as well. It did not make him popular, as one could imagine.

The part where it gets confusing is orgs can run their own PLC (It's a pretty big debate in the community atm). I'm not aware of any orgs with the plan to do that in the short term. But if they did in that case their PLC would be the addressbook/authority for your did. But good chance it starts as

@samdeane Another way to approach this would be from the app site. Ie instead of focusing on the OS/API itself, as a first step rebuild all the apps. Mail.app, Messages, Calendar, Addressbook, Terminal etc
Once those are sufficiently nice and usable, do what it takes to bring them to Linux […]

Benioff makes an addressbook and call-scheduler that runs in the cloud and charges people a fucking mint for it, hoping that they never figure out that you could use any package and that CRM/SFA lives and dies by implementation, not by platform.

Just finished a full UI overhaul! Here’s a sneak peek.
Built on two simple principles:
1. Share your contact details once, and your recipients automatically get real‑time updates in their address book.
2. Your data stays safe.

one thing that would be interesting to try is taking alfis.name and adopting it into an i2p addressbook

*snatches phone b4 Security can react*

… Then WHO are-
‘WarTuxedo@ FishFlippers. xom’?

‘ManlyMangina@ ButtPigs. xom’?

‘BoozIsNOTaProb@ Alanon. Hlth’?

… And WHY are they ALL listed as ‘HyperSecure’ in your SignalChat addressbook?

I've read the entire addressbook twice. It's filled with wealthy influential people from the 1990s.
RFKJR and Ted Kennedy are listed in there. Trump is in there. The governors and senators from FL and NM are in there. Celebrities, reporters, bank CEOs, foreign leaders, etc...it's an address book.
