A2 #WomenWritersNetwork To be truthful, I have taken a bit of a step away from promotion and the like for the last couple of months (last year was a bit of a saga). But my memoir, love lay down beside me and we wept, will be released in paperback later this year with @wiltonsquare.bsky.social 1/2

Great, Sandy. I'm sure you will get there. Helps to feel accountable though, doesn't it! #WomenWritersNetwork

My latest post on Substack, in which I write about creative gaps and the pain of giving birth (to stories).

Writing a novel is easy, isn't it?
Mind the gap

I've just spent ten hours working on a short story that I wrote some time ago, so yeah, this speaks to me.

My first post on Substack, in which I talk about why on earth you'd want to write a novel in the first place, staring at a blank page, going on detours, and finally... getting an idea.

A1 Do you still do anything with your blog anymore, Rita? I loved your thoughtful posts and the footnotes! #WomenWritersNetwork

A1 I blog at www.NastasyaParker.com, and I have a Facebook writer page and still try promoting on Twitter as well as here a bit. Mixed results these days! Twitter used to be great for writer engagement a few years ago and I haven’t quite found anything that replicates it. #WomenWritersNetwork

Yesterday evening, returning from Geneva. Having just had a salad, a Spritz, a laugh with friends who are moving back to NYC.

I didn’t get any writing in. Not every day can be industrious. Good wishes for being restored. And for your writing!

A5 #WomenWritersNetwork I think it does - now I'm used to it! Covers and titles are so subjective and complicated...I'd rather write a whole book!

A2 #WomenWritersNetwork I feel this way about my hometown. Familiar but nowhere near the same.

Same! Happily, it's not TOO different so far. #WomenWritersNetwork

Hilary Mantel would be so proud of her younger friend who wrote this novel with brilliance against many odds.

This novel has that Mantel darkness. Sending females into dark places.
Experienced with the body.
As much as with the soul.

Taking in all kinds of art really helps my writing process. In the past week,I've read through a number of memoir pieces for a collection I'm editing, been to the opera in Genoa and visited the National Portrait Gallery in London. Now bursting with ideas! #amwriting #womenwritersnetwork
