I periodically post this (& will again), but it's good to check in on things like 24-y.o. Riesling. This is in stark contrast to the Trocken (dry) that I posted on recently from Donnhoff. Fresh as a daisy (24 years? You're kidding!), lush & surprisingly dense, it has a backbone of acidity too.

This is 280 million year old volcanic rock on top of the slate in the Mosel’s Urziger Wurzgarten. Next, the slope is scary, but so is the heat - 15 degrees hotter (the day we visited) in this part then elsewhere, so it was too hot for them to work this part of the vineyard.

I've likely posted on this before. Bought a lot, drinking too slowly.😱 But it's not a bad idea to check in on this "regular" Spät as it moves well into its 20s. Short answer: absolutely perfect. Fresh, fruity and delicious, it seems ridiculously young & better than the last bottle.

I've likely posted on this before. Bought a lot, drinking too slowly.😱 But it's not a bad idea to check in on this "regular" Spät as it moves well into its 20s. Short answer: absolutely perfect. Fresh, fruity and delicious, it seems ridiculously young & better than the last bottle.
