"Love does much...but bourbon does everything"

#TheCrimsonKimono (1959, Samuel Fuller) took me completely by surprise. I didn't expect a film so daring. It's very well constructed, with the "film noir" elements of the story merely serving as a backdrop to the film's exploration of race in America.

Film noirs shot on location is my love language. Several scenes shot in Downtown LA or Little Tokyo in #TheCrimsonKimono. Film is part of the Columbia Noir collection. It seems riskier than I would expect from a studio film circa 1959.
