Awareness can be hard on one's morale. There are many folks trying to help with that. I found this place helpful, because it's creator resonated with me: postdoom.com (Michael Dowd, who started this, was once a TechOptimist Tree-Hugger with "Normal" beliefs. He became an aware "Doomer" years ago.)

Kritiek op AI tiert welig onder vakgenoten (en op dit platform). Hoewel ik geen techoptimist ben, volgt vandaag een een iets ander (en wellicht hoopvoller) perspectief op AI en/in de geschiedwetenschap!

I feel trepidation questioning so many luminaries promoting a #TechOptimist solution to a real possibility of a world hunger crisis. But their letter does not mention food waste or maldistribution of food. Addressing those is a big part of the solution.

I feel trepidation questioning so many luminaries promoting a #TechOptimist solution to a real possibility of a world hunger crisis. But their letter does not mention food waste or maldistribution of food. Addressing those is a big part of the solution.

Students lie and cheat about use of GAI tools, enabled by techoptimist leaders. I took freelance commissions cos I couldn't write my own things...

If you take the rapid developments in AI, biomedical research, medicine more generally, blockchain, robotics, battery and energy tech, it isn’t Panglossian to think there is a obvious potential future with much less global suffering. #TechOptimist

Speicherlösungen werden in den nächsten 25 Jahren massive Fortschritte machen. Bin per se kein Techoptimist. Aber die Entwicklungen sind vielversprechend. Kommt hinzu: Autark wird die Schweiz ohnehin nie Strom produzieren. Sie wird auch importieren. 4/6
