LiveOSのSystemRescueをここしばらく利用
OS起動前、30秒だったか待ちがある
その画面が他ツール選択起動画面にもなっとるわけだ

その中のMemtest86+を実行、実に久しぶりに走らせてみてる
走り尽くすまでどれだけ時間かかるかしらんけど、相当デバイスを詰めてくれてるみたいで、結果は待ち遠しい

stressとグラボベンチマーク使ってデバイスのストレスチェック

32+16のメモリ、32を抜いて動作確認
最初再起動の嵐でびびってスロット変更、安定
今スロット戻して再度検証

再起動の嵐は構成変わったからメモリチェックしてたのかな

CPUファン、コネクタ間違えて電源とってた
→挿しなおし
BIOSでステータスが反映されて、CPU温度もさが……とくに変わってない

LiveOSのSystemRescueで動作確認
CPUに付加を掛けるstressこまんどで全コアに10分間負荷をかけ続ける
→完走

む？勝手にプロセス踏んだ終了処理からの電源OFFの症状、熱が原因じゃない？ひょっとしてOS依存の症状！？

anyway I painstakingly recreated my overly-complex DHCP config and then had it all blown away _a second time_ before I realized what was happening and things went so well from that point that I wound up booting SystemRescue on my router VM

Farewell, my dear friend. This classy blue USB drive has been my dear companion since 2019.

Always carrying a copy of SystemRescue and helping boot and recover over 100 PCs, it has finally perished. Stylish until the end, its last words were this calm, pulsing glow which I'd never seen before.

Here it is in full. I've given this a go in a VM with an NTFS vdi with sample data and it does work but it's still risky cause things can still go very wrong if I mistype stuff & there may be other unaccounted for variables.

Yay! Glad your PC didn't totally die. Sucks that you're gonna be rebuilding your Win install for awhile. And how do you lose a drive? Unintentionally repartitioned during the Win reinstall? And for future, get a USB stick and install SystemRescue on it. It's a great general Linux based toolkit.

If you're looking for a working Arch-based live distro specifically for the purpose of rescue work, then SystemRescue is a more appropriate option for that, IMO. Comes with all the useful tools built right in. www.system-rescue.org
