Delighted to see this commissioned piece in print in BJS : "The science and art of decision-making in surgery".

This was a challenging but balanced attempt to synthesise some of the key concepts which influence surgical decision-making.

Was in #patientengagement meeting about #pilonidalsinus disease yesterday.

Interesting to hear stories - lots to learn about service and trial design.

Was struck by the 'anxiety' aspect for healed patients. Something we should think about more?

Hot off the press:

Paper synthesising the lived experience of people with #pilonidal disease.
Prevalence of anxiety a surprising finding. Impact on work, ADLs and body image less surprising, but still important.
Useful for consultations?
