Fortunately the Kingfisher flew over from the reeds to the perch and promptly caught a fish. 📷👑🐟💙 #Stodmarsh #autumn #wildlife

I always enjoyed the previous generation of birder’s tales of yore. That’s why I share (and to wind up the yoof, obvs.😚)

I remember a long gone birder telling of his discovery of a Pallas’s’ Sandgrouse at Stodmarsh in 1964.

I’m sure there’s still a few 1962 Macqueens Bustard veterans around.

We were back in Kent for the weekend, and it was good to walk round Elmley and Stodmarsh again. Elmley is very dry at the moment but Stodmarsh seems have 'weathered' the dry weather well. Beardie from Stodmarsh this morning. #StodmarshNR

Scarlet Ibis still visible from the Marsh hide at Stodmarsh NR. Quite distant this morning but an amazing colour. Its a South American bird, so it must have escaped from a collection.

We heard lots of 'booming' from the Bittern from the moment we arrived at Stodmarsh. While in the Tower hide filming the Marsh Harriers I wasn't expecting to catch the Bittern flying up to have a go at one! 🎥🌞🦅💚👍 #Spring #Stodmarsh #wildlife

My first trip to Stodmarsh in years late this afternoon. Ringtail Hen Harrier in to roost just before 4:15. Then a male Hen Harrier in just after 4:15. A hunting Barn Owl, several Marsh Harriers and Fieldfares whilst I was waiting. By the time I left, there were two Barn Owls out. #kentbirding
