Vista RTM and launch was a complete nightmare lol yeah
but I think by Vista SP2 they had ironed out most of the issues and it's pretty usable, i installed it on my ThinkPad T43 (ATI GPU model) when i had it and it was super lovely to use, god i love aero (and i think vista looks better than 7)

I don’t remember it being “monthly reinstall” bad, but I definitely remember constant suffering.
Pretty sure I stuck with 2000 for a long time, until XP got SP2 and was really good but that theme was an eyesore.

Growing up my dad got what was marketed as the most secure version of windows ever, windows ME.
