 Don't film vertically, damn it. The Seishun Buta Yarou Something Something (SeiButa for short) franchise is good, actually. (At least the anime is; I haven't read any of the books.) The characters say clever things, the writing is interesting, and the stories take time to develop before culminating in satisfying emotional payoffs. Through nine episodes, Seishun Buta Yarou wa Santa Claus no Yume wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus) seems to have all of these elements, but I'm discouraged by the way I'm watching the series.
