Still very busy at the Seaton Wetlands Sand Martin Colony. I assume they are on their second brood by now? Great to see, that after years of inactivity, the bank has become a thriving success! #SeatonWetlands

Pure joy seeing that sand martins have finally moved in! Now 56 breeding pairs at #SeatonWetlands, Devon. Patience paid off: it took 7 years for the birds to start adopting their new home. Brilliant work by Doug Rudge and colleagues 👏 @eastdevon.bsky.social #birds #nesting

Delighted to have found this Grey long-eared bat (Endangered in UK) at #seatonwetlands #wildeastdevon #devon last night. Its broad wings enable it to fly slowly (and almost hover) as it collect insects off leaves. @naturalengland.bsky.social @batconservation.bsky.social 🦇 #wildlife #nature

No luck in photographing Dartford Warblers at Aylesbeare Common this morning, but there were plenty of other small birds about including Siskin. I came back via Seaton Wetlands, and the female Stilt is still showing well, although the hide was completely empty when I arrived. #SeatonWetlands

We thought we had missed the Black winged Stilts on the Seaton Wetlands, as they were not seen on the 9th. Fortunately the female(?) was showing well again today. #Seatonwetlands #Devonbirds

Had a trip to Seaton Wetlands this morn. A bit hazy. Mainly Redshanks & Black-Tailed Godwits. The Godwits are starting to colour up well. Very pleased to see that the Sandmartins are already active at the wall!! Saw the Osprey tower. 🤞🤞 #UKBirding #SeatonWetlands
