"Please focus your attention on the skills that matter."

Next commenter: SB24 means we must teach a history of "the dangers and crimes of communist regimes." It's necessary because New York just elected a socialist. People can't voice traditional views. capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/89R/...

If you're going to mention the 'constant barriers and fragmented advocacy' in California, it might be worth SB 79. Similar to SB24-174 Colorado, but will create way more housing, and is already creating thousands of units on light rail at a city level throughout California.
A new law makes it easier to build homes near buses. Guess what housing opponents are doing now
After Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law to allow mid-rise apartment buildings near major transit stops, opponents of new housing have a new reason to battle the bus.

Fellow Texans: State GOP is sponsoring SB24, requiring schools to teach about the "atrocities of communist governments in an effort to "preserve freedom & learn from mistakes of the past". Email your rep & ask if this includes learning about fascism & the lessons that teaches us. See if they respond

Great... "On January 1st of 2026, Texas will be required to give ID to download apps from the app stores. It doesn't matter if it's NSFW or not. "

And yes, this applies to Android, too. Which, btw, is already trying to limit side-loading apps.

With families facing record-high utility costs, California's #AB1167 & #SB24 will make sure that utility customer dollars go towards safe and reliable energy — NOT political spending and lobbying.

@governor.ca.gov, sign this commonsense consumer protection legislation into law!

About to join 2025 Colorado Privacy Act Rulemaking - SB24-041 Amendments

Such a painful waste of time. Privacy without action is just political pandering.

Reinstatement of Sabdariffa and new combinations to support a monophyletic concept of Hibiscus (Malvaceae: Hibisceae)
Recent phylogenetic studies have demonstrated that Hibiscus L. as traditionally defined is grossly polyphyletic. In a major step towards making Hibiscus monophyletic, the genus Sabdariffa (DC.) Kostel...

This is the "innovation" that the MagicSchool exec insisted must be unregulated in his testimony two weeks ago during Colorado's special legislative session. Lawmakers postponed the SB24-205 implementation date until after the 2026 regular session. We need to strengthen rather than dilute the law.

We commend Colorado leaders for taking a thoughtful approach to #AI regulation. By delaying SB24-205, the state creates space for collaboration on solutions that balance consumer safeguards with workable compliance for businesses. ccianet.org/news/2025/08... #DataPrivacy

UPDATE: One bill in the show notes has now been amended and rewritten to simply extend the implementation date of SB24-205 which is…..literally one of the reasons the special session was called in the first place….🫩 #COpolitics #AI

In 2025, we had a bill to update the SB24-205 policy. That was SB25-318. This would address the vast majority of things stakeholders had concern with and it would actually REDUCE the appropriation to the state. This bill failed to move forward. leg.colorado.gov/bills/sB25-318

We have fiscal analysis done by non-partisan staff on each policy. The summary says clearly "no appropriate required".

This excerpt from the Governor's EO says that implementation will cost $5M annually. There is no evidence of this and the only thing provided was a link to this letter that says nothing about costs. But what do the documents pertaining to SB24-205 actually say?

yep. towards the end they made lower voltage ones. if you have an electronic camera that does TTL, it's easier to just use a dedicated flash and get the benefit with that. I used SB24 and then 26s in the 90s. they're pretty neat, you can daisy chain them together with cables and all sorts of stuff
