The growing interest of young female enthusiasts in male homoerotic narratives inspired the formation of large fan communities in the mid-2000s and received increasing attention from academics. A large number of theoretical essays, qualitative and quantitative research articles emerged, focusing on either boys' love media or the fan culture associated with it. As it is often regarded as created by women and for women, most BL related studies have focused on its female participants. In recent decades, the BL subculture has transformed into a transnational cultural phenomenon. Although such popularity may suggest that more homoerotic media products are available t gay/bisexual men, the heteronormative nature of BL may drive away gay/bisexu: audiences. This study investigates the experiences of consuming BL among gay/bi-sexual men in Hong Kong. The findings show that gay/bisexual audiences enjoy the aspects of BL that resonate with their personal experiences and fantasies. Through the process of queer reading, BL helps gay/bisexual audiences develop resilience to cope with the stresses that they encounter as sexual minorities in Hong Kong. However, due to the gap between what is depicted in BL and reality, such resilience is circumscribed, which means that BL only provides conditional resilience to its gay/bisexual audience in Hong Kong. I do know of a fantastic program available to Military Veterans in Ontario called VTN. It's essentially a 5 day, retreate style program that focuses on individualized trauma. If you would like to know more, just ask!

Stede tried to not be nauseous, but he still felt that way as he was guided into an elevator by Ed’s light touch. He hated being aggressive, he hated the burst of rage that made him feel out of control, but when he’d glanced back to see some strange woman gripping Ed’s shoulder and walking him to the trio? Stede’s vision had run red, and he’d been moving before he could stop himself. Every conversation about the claiming laws on the books in France had flitted through his mind as he’d heard Low’s vague threat to take an omega from Blackbeard in response. That had cracked him, twisted through something dark and possessive that had refused to think rationally. And it wasn’t like him to react with raw anger that blazed so brightly it overrode every other thought. It had taken everything not to push Ed back against the wall there and then, to scent the omega until no one could doubt that he had an alpha. It was an urge that continued to build even as they had retreated into the hotel at Ed’s urging and the bite of the omega’s scent was sweet in Stede’s nose. What was wrong with him? “Seriously, mate, s’fine, try and breathe a bit?” Ed’s voice was comforting as Stede leaned back in the elevator. “The fuck sorta alpha gets sick after a fight?” Izzy scoffed and Stede slanted an angry look at him. “We had it handled, Bonnet, we didn’t need you playin’ god damn white knight.” “Dunno, I kinda liked it.” Ed’s voice turned into something rich and interested, and if Stede hadn’t felt his stomach turning as he recalled pinning Ned Low he might have felt better about it. “When you let loose you really let loose.” “I just… the claiming laws here, I was worried.” Stede admitted. “I’m sure you could have handled it all, but I just couldn’t walk away from that!” “Christ, those fuckin’ things are ancient, now Low is gonna be looking for a god damn reason to start a feud.” The short omega scoffed, but his eyes were on Ed. “The hell were you doin’ up this way, your hotel isn’t even close to here.” “I was walking Edward home.” Stede snapped bitchily and Ed shifted beside him as Izzy’s eyes darted between them. “And let him try something. I do know a few people at Bonnet Media, so my threat wasn’t totally empty.” “Of course you do.” Izzy sneered before the elevator doors opened on the top floor. “Leave it, Iz.” Ed said in a voice that dripped menace. “S’not your fuckin’ worry.” “Yes, it fucking is, Edward!” Stede listened to them snipe as Ed pulled out a keycard. They were high up in the hotel. Stede knew wealth, he could recognize one of the floors that must have held private suites. He tried to concentrate on the decorations rather than how he had acted like another knot-headed idiot the moment Ed had been threatened. Why had he done it? It wasn’t like him. He had a cool head, one that he was trying to impart to Alma. Well, the bitchy threats, those, he could admit, were common enough, but knocking Ned Low down? Stepping on his chest? Feeling something snarling and possessive want to display his strength by beating the hell out of the man in front of his omega? Ed let them into a private suite that reminded Stede of the sort of places his father would stay. There was no expense spared in the decorations and fineness of the furniture. The omega was still snapping at Izzy as he opened up a fridge and pulled out a bottle of water. “Here, mate, you feelin’ any better?” Ed’s dark brown eyes were furrowed with concern, and that was wrong. Stede should have been fussing over him. “I… is there a bathroom?” Stede took the water and Ed’s expression softened into a smile. “Yeah, right through there.” Stede glanced towards the door before a soft brush of lips ghosted his cheek. “Thanks for the rescue, alpha.” Ed whispered the words in Stede’s ear, sending a jolt of lightning through him. Izzy let out a disgusted sound, well let him, everything he knew about the short omega wasn’t really flattering. The bathroom was a bit of a mess with clothes tossed about, the counter cluttered with personal items. Stede ignored it all in favor of turning on the water and wiping his face, cooling himself down. He felt a little unhinged, but the water helped as he heard the muffled sounds of an argument going on outside the bathroom. He had probably got Ed in trouble, Izzy was the COO after all. He’d have to make sure to clear it up somehow, it wasn’t Ed’s fault Stede was an idiot. “…going to make a statement and then what?” Izzy’s voice was sharp and muffled. “….going to Blackbeard….. not the likes of Bonnet!” “..can’t I just…. Fuck you, Iz! You know….” Ed’s voice was rising in volume as Stede grabbed a towel to dry his face. It was only when he drew in a deep breath that his dazed mind realized that the place reeked of alpha. Gunsmoke and sea-salt, thick and biting, making him crinkle his nose backwards and blink slowly. He knew Blackbeard’s scent, after all, Ed smelled a bit like him after a day of work, but it was stronger in the bathroom. So was Ed’s scent. Stede blinked slowly and sniffed, the two scents were mingled liberally and he finally glanced around the bathroom. And his heart dropped into his stomach as he really looked. Oh…. Stede Bonnet had been an idiot. Again.

I think that's very rare! and takes place at a time when the Mongols are a much more organized imperial system than most nomadic armies - hence the use of siege weapons, etc. If you look at even most of their raids-in-force during that campaign, where it's just cavalry, they retreate before winter
