Though this book is historical fiction, you'll also find yourself being educated about a period of real history not necessarily taught in schools when you read The Lies They Told by Ellen Marie Wiseman

"Wow, there were some harsh character losses in this book, but that made it all the more realistic in the post-apocalyptic setting,"

One minute I’m Cat, a stuntwoman on set. The next? I wake up in a fantasy realm full of vampires, werewolves, warlocks, and oh yeah—actual dragons.......
Interested? Take a look at Song Of The Shadow Prince by Karina Espinosa

I didn’t want to put the book down. This book kept me awake reading late into the night, unable to put it down without discovering the end.

I don't normally read books with time-travel or fae in them
I just finished reading Song Of The Shadow Prince, The Dragons Ballad Bk1 by Karina Espinosa.
Among other aspects, it has time-travel & fae, AND I LOVED IT!

1984, Animal farm and less famous book #3, Burmese Days, were a trilogy iirc. Eric Blair (given name) was a military policeman in Burma during its occupation by Britain.
Cannot recommendreading “Finding George Orwell in Burma” enough. It is as timely as it is terrifying.
