It's clear the only way Nico Harrison can save his job and win back the admiration of the fanbase is to construct a trade that centers around Cooper Flagg for Zion. The Mavs are 14th in the West and Cooper has a -4.2 RAPM, clearly a bust. A win now move like trading for Zion will fix everything.

Anaheim is 10-3-1 with a +14 goal differential on 2025-11-09, and if you told me that a month ago I would have, well, probably started laughing

Grundström isn't just a plug, to be clear. He's not much of a scorer -- his career high of pts in a season is 19 -- but we're talking about a guy with 292 NHL games, & a solid play-driver. He ranked in the 85th percentile among Fs in xG impact last season (+0.220 xG RAPM).

Lol, skeets. Yeah, don't agree with Seeler eval at all. I think he's looked bad (if he's not blocking shots he's also not doing a good job preventing them either, and he's still generating no offense, his RAPM is really poor). Drysdale/Andrae I think don't have much in common other than puck moving

In the offseason, I was pretty firm with my belief that #Flyers Cam York should not be a candidate for PP time based on his not great results with significant PP time prior, and generally based on his play style.
Through 10 games, York ranks on the team (via RAPM) on the PP:
GF/60: 2nd
xGF/60: 5th

Only 7 games ofc but this is Bam's highest def rapm and I think having more capable defenders with size around him makes the difference.
Jimmy was his best def teammate by far but rn there's no pressure points that need to play a ton of min.

Noah Laba's early season results seem to be what you might expect from a rookie center in a bit over his head with no real support.

Dragging both Stanley and Morrissey higher most likley. His RAPM chart has flipped from last season too.

Evolving Hockey GAR xGAR & RAPM are now active. It will shock nobody that Luke Schenn is bottom 25 in the league in both GAR & xGAR. Vilardi xGAR being 4th worst in the league is a bit surprising though

One other way of thinking about it is do the combinations seem to out-perform the individuals within the combos? xG +/- per 60 (RAPM adjusted for individuals). Here is how the individual players' metrics line up with their lines.

It's quite possible that I'm missing some of the nuance related to the RAPM xG metrics that affect the scale, and maybe this is expected. However, I've been impressed by how the Jets managed to put together 4 lines & 3 D pairs with such good metrics, despite mediocre-seeming individual metrics. /end

The next two charts show the individual and combination-based EV xG +/- metrics (per 60) for F and D. The data are from @evolving-hockey.com with the individual showing the RAPM adjusted metrics. x-axis and size of combo bubbles depict the time-on-ice. 3/n

3 charts. The first shows the difference between the overall combined xG plus-minus metrics for individual D and F, in comparison to the overall metrics D pairs and F lines for those players (weighted by TOI). I've used @evolving-hockey.com RAPM xG +/- for players and adjusted for combos. 2/n

Really curious to see what the RAPM version of these will look like once they're updated for the season, as opponents + line mates aren't factored in. But lots of very good developments (Zegras, Tippett, York) so far.

A couple of observations
1. "public coefficients" is ever so semantically different from "open source" (which implies explicit consent for conditional reuse)
2. I can't articulate why I'd use it vs. BPM which performed slightly better here dunksandthrees.com/blog/metric-... or rapm-derived stats.
