Decided that testing my Pi-Hole on the TV wasn't the best way, so I added my MacBook to it and went to Devon Live. A website infested with ads.
A little bit of tinkering with domains on the Pi-Hole admin page and Devon Live is now an ad-free experience.

Ok, Pi-Hole is up and running. I have SSH enabled and can log in to the admin portal. Live update of DNS requests is working. So all I need to do now is figure out what ads I want blocked and add them to my blocklist. Easy, right?

I got this going but used AdGuadd instead of pihole. Tried both, and either way it’s such a game-changer. The “before and after” of recipe sites in particular is incredible.

I hate technology so much. I tried to set up a pihole adblocker, got all the way to the end, to find out that my isp doesn’t allow you to change dns settings, which is pretty important. Very discouraging. I hate it here.

i saw an ad today (ew gross) that was fucking interactive, like not on some kinda game or website, on fucking hbo max.
oh and also the ad rate on there is crazy i srsly need to set up pihole on my network smh im so sick of ads

Finished the first net of my new PI/48 #ipv6 as #ipv6only WLAN with #nat64 / #dns64 using #pfsense #NAT64 and a small #bind VM serving the #DNS64 while still using the #pihole forwarders, so blocking is also working on the WLAN .

Are you running a pihole or something similar? I have the same issue on my espn phone app and I think it’s due to some AdGuard DNS filter setting but I can’t figure out what it is and I can’t be bothered to hunt it down when the Apple TV app works.

So, der neue #raspberry mit #pihole läuft stabil. Hab der Fritzbox eben gesagt, sie soll den neuen DNSServer verwenden – scheint stabil zu laufen. 13 Geräte aktiv.
