Wardley Stops Parker in Unquestionable TKO, Sets Up Usyk Showdown
Fabio Wardley produced a career-best performance at The O2 Arena in London on Saturday night, stopping former world champion Joseph Parker in a dramatic eleventh round to prove his credentials as a genuine world-class heavyweight.
Wardley halted Parker in round eleven to secure a mandatory shot at Oleksandr Usyk’s undisputed heavyweight crown. World Boxing News was ringside at The O2 Arena for the event, providing live coverage and post-fight analysis.
The bout, billed as ‘All or Nothing’ and broadcast live on DAZN, delivered on its promise as a brutal and breathless war between two of the division’s top contenders. Wardley’s victory now guarantees him a mandatory shot at Usyk, who is currently recovering from injury.
The Usyk fight is expected to take place either in the UK or Saudi Arabia next year, with Riyadh Season in February emerging as the early favorite to stage the clash.
Parker vs Wardley Fight Report
Parker started strong, bloodying Wardley’s ever-scarred nose in the opening round and landing heavy shots that set the tone for a punishing encounter. The former WBO champion looked composed early, forcing Wardley to fight off the back foot.
Wardley responded with power and precision in the second, wobbling Parker with massive shots that shifted the fight’s momentum. A moment of controversy followed when referee Howard Foster paused the action to replace Parker’s gumshield—an intervention that arguably saved the New Zealander from a possible early stoppage.
The Ipswich powerhouse carried that fire into the next two rounds, landing flush combinations and forcing Parker to retreat. Parker’s right eye began to swell as Wardley’s pressure mounted. However, the veteran responded with intelligence and grit, slowing the pace in the middle rounds and using his experience to edge back into the contest.
Deep Waters
As the rounds wore on, Parker began to retake control, dragging Wardley into deep waters and forcing him to prove his elite credentials. By the ninth, the Kiwi appeared to be pulling away, but Wardley refused to fade.
In a remarkable turnaround, Wardley stunned Parker in the tenth, rocking him with a flurry that had the O2 crowd on their feet. The fight descended into a brutal exchange, with both men absorbing enormous punishment before Wardley finally broke through in the eleventh.
With Parker struggling badly from an eye injury and unable to defend himself, Wardley unleashed another devastating assault, forcing referee Foster to intervene and halt the contest. The British Boxing Board of Control later confirmed the result as a technical knockout at 1:54 of round eleven.
The stoppage secured a statement TKO victory for Wardley, who extended his record to 20–0–1 and underlined his status as Britain’s next major heavyweight star. It was an unquestionable ending as Parker was on the verge of being taken out well before Foster stepped in.
What Comes Next
Wardley’s win now sets up the Usyk clash once the Ukrainian returns, as the 30-year-old catapulted himself into the conversation among boxing’s global elite.
Promoter Frank Warren confirmed the plans immediately after the fight.
“It’s really simple: Oleksandr [Usyk] is a great champion,” Warren told DAZN after the fight. “His next fight will be against Fabio Wardley for the four belts. It’s what he deserves for that performance.
“He said he wants it, so that’s what it’ll be.”
Whether the fight lands in London or Riyadh, the British knockout artist will enter his first world title challenge as one of the sport’s fastest-rising names—now proven beyond the domestic level and knocking firmly on the door of world championship glory.
