#Modulex
I created a display for my Gugicks & gifts/tokens from Lego conventions!

I wanted to put my Modulex tree top & center, but it wasn't stable enough on top of the drawers, so I put it on my trophy shelf instead.

Gold=2020, blue-2021, red-2022, green-2023. No base=mostly '23.

I ❤️ this community!

Kids and Lego?! What gave the producers this crazy idea? Lego is a serious design tool for adults. Everyone knows that. Next thing you know, they'll be trying to convince us that Modulex is not a toy.

watching a video about weird lego bricks and bro just made a whole video essay about modulex, then did a "9 strage lego bricks" video afterward.

Yeah lol

It’s honestly really interesting to see tinier versions of something that we’re familiar with. I mean i remember when i found out that Lego made a smaller variant in the 60’s called Modulex, and was mainly made for business use.

The LINXS sign is now lit on The Loop Lund right in the holiday spirit!
Thank you very much Modulex Group and Emelie Nordlander for the production of the logo, it is truly perfect!

They even went so far as to stop the manufacture of new bricks back in 2015 when they bought back the rights to Modulex from Anders Kirk Johansen.

Absolute clownshow.

why not modulex system compatible instead

neat mid-century thing from when design firms & stuff were just kinda going wild to see what works:
Modulex was an architectural scale brick that Lego made when they realized how useful it was to collaboratively lay things out & update plans in real time by just moving the structures around by hand

I’m in Billund, Denmark. I was invited for the Modulex 60th anniversary. I’ve brought a display of vintage LEGO Modulex. Such a great time.

Here is a fandom article about them and the history of the product! And the company still exists today, albeit not with its original purpose but still in some iteration related to architecture. #lego #legosky #oddhistory
Modulex
Modulex was a building system that was designed for adults. It was developed by The LEGO Group at the same time as their Modulex sets were produced from 1963 until 1965, and were exclusively available...

In some lighter news, I started a knock-off Lego today that is about 3/4 the size of actual Lego. And they remind me of Modulex blBricks, a small offshoot of Lego started in 1963, built purposely for architecture students.

More about Modulex:

The company was spin-off decades ago, the (inactive) brick section was re-acquirered by Lego recently (more on the video above). Modulex signage is still active:

I believe this is all the Lego.

Big blue and yellow are Lego Storage.
Small green on the blue stud are Modulex.
Both not system
The rest are all system and are all connected.
The white and green base are Duplo.
The yellow and dark blue are Quatro.
The black beam is Technic.
The rest is normal Lego.
