i can load up pretty much anything over MemCardPro2 with OPL, playing the game off disc is just for the novelty of it

And if you didn't already have MemCardPro2 then you'll find it super useful just in general. It'll do auto cloud save backups, among other things. Using even a 4GB MicroSD card will enable thousands of save slots.

It runs the game and saves to a game specific memory card created by the Memcardpro2, not OPL VMCs. By and large, it works like a charm and has none of the USB stutters. There are still rare compatibility issues with OPL, most games work without issue.

This is the same functionality, it just consoldiates everything to the MemcardPro2. One mild warning: I'm having hit/miss on the slim 79XXX series with this newest update (firmware 1.3.1). Works like a charm on a fat PS2 or other slim models, but no one seems to be talking about this issue.

Playing PS2 games off a MemCardPro2 on a PS2 with a dead optical drive. EVERYTHING runs off the card and I can plug it into any PS2 and my ISO’s and saves are ready to go.

It just made transferring saves and creating a freemcboot easier but with memcardpro2 you honestly don’t need this thing at all anymore.

If I feel up to it this week I'm hoping to finish my perfect PS2 Slim build. It has Free Mcboot, a built-in MicroSD card slot for game storage, and has been meticulously refurbed. Equipped with a MemCardPro2 as well. Finishing touch will be an internal bluetooth module for power-on and play PS4 ctrl
