Anyone happen to know the itinerant / backyard repeater frequencies for the Washington DC area in the 440MHz/70cm band? I have a repeater I would like to stand up for #shmoocon and want to make sure I'm not stepping in other in-use pairs. #dmr #mmdvm #cdr700 #cdm1250 #tmarc

In general, I'd probably say my next DMR is going to be a Baofeng, because theu typically work fine and I don't. Have a lot of $$$. But the limited contacts is a concern. The world list is approaching 300K, and I use MMDVM / BM, so I need them.

It's going well! I swapped the Pi for the one with the SQ6POG MMDVM HAT and set up my old Python test scripts. One of the pagers went beep-beep!
It's just a shame the transmitter isn't on the DAPNET frequency. That means I ned to find a Motorola RIB box, cables, and a PC that'll run MCS2000 RSS.

Thought I replied to this but don't see it - anyway DMR is great . . and also DStar as well. If you don't have a lot of local repeaters, get a mmdvm hotspot since they work great. Let me know if you need assistance - by the way - what's your call sign?

Thank you for the reply!! I do have a mmdvm hotspot on a pi zero and it works really well 😊 I don't want to dox myself, but have been able to hit a couple local DMR repeaters on my attic antenna. However right not it's not practical to use it with the HT. I may get a small mobile for my desk

Thank you for the reply!! I do have a mmdvm hotspot on a pi zero and it works really well 😊 I don't want to dox myself, but have been able to hit a couple local DMR repeaters on my attic antenna. However right not it's not practical to use it with the HT. I may get a small mobile for my desk

I've had pretty good success tonight with DMR and MMDVM hotspots!
so far I would not recommend a Baofeng DM-1701; it's not terribly intuitive, and getting it to an easier-to-use state required a custom firmware flash. MMDVM hotspot working fine tho!
