The UK raids took place in November as part of Operation Pulka, an international effort to tackle organised wildlife crime The raids began in June 2023 in Norway, and resulted in 16 arrests and the seizure of 50,000 eggs. In Australia, an estimated 3,500 eggs have been seized #IllegalWildlifeTrade

Acting on a tip-off, police searched a parked truck in Muang district and discovered a lar gibbon, 2 black crested gibbons and 3 orangutans caged in the truck. Subsequently they found 2 red pandas, 7 cotton-top tamarin monkeys, a mongoose, and a red-whiskered bulbul in a house #IllegalWildlifeTrade

Upon searching their luggage, officials discovered seven plastic containers filled with venomous snakes, scorpions, and spiders.

These explosives explode in the mouth of a wild animal when the animal chews them, resulting in the its death. This kind of practice is usually carried out by poachers with the intent of aiming to smuggle body parts like jaws, nails, teeth, skin, etc.
