Alexander seems to have been pretty darned gay - there are contemporaneous accounts that support this (though some of those may have been manufactured by his detractors), he didn't produce an heir until basically the end of his life, and his best friend Hephaestion seems to have been his lover.

Correction to the article...this tomb was NOT built by Alexander for Hephaistion. Much speculation exists about its date, as well as the occupants. But is HAS occupants. Hephaistion's body was cremated in Babylon. It's not his. The name "Hephaistion" that appears inside is the mosaicist's signature.
