It was fantastic to see such an impressive crowd enjoying our annual festivities for Bloomsday yesterday (as well as the great weather of course!)

We're already looking forward to next year!

Glasnevin Cemetery. Final resting place of One Million Dubliners.

The O'Connell Tower, where Daniel O'Connell is interred. Now open to the public again, you can climb up to the top for great views of the city.

Today, we remember Grace Gifford Plunkett (b. #OTD 1888). Following the execution of her husband Joseph Plunkett in 1916, she became an activist, and used her skills as an artist to oppose British rule, and later, the Anglo-Irish Treaty. She is buried in #GlasnevinCemetery.

The famous advice for women given by Constance Markievicz was, "dress suitably in short shirts and strong boots, leave your jewels and gold wands in the bank and buy a revolver".

#OTD 1927 she was buried in #GlasnevinCemetery alongside many of her comrades.
