Stories of brokenness, interruptions, and mercy
Pastor Karl Romeus from Flatirons Community Church delivered a powerful message in his new series, "Behold," leading up to Christmas. The basic concepts he presented are captured in Matthew 1. He considered the genealogy and the circumstances that shook Mary’s and Joseph’s betrothal, leading us to the categories: God uses people with stories of brokenness. Happy for you to have a more relaxing holiday instead of planning for #GenChat but sorry to see this wonderful chat go away. You’ve done so much to encourage interactivity in the #Genealogy community here and on Mastodon.

You're very welcome! I hope it helps. If you have any questions, repost with the hashtags 'genealogy' and 'DNA' and the genetic genealogy community will very likely have more information for you. (I am science-y so I try to follow the DNA news, but I haven't tested myself.)

The Michigan pioneer I'm researching lived in a tight-knit community in rural Kent County. How tight-knit? I found an 1860 Ag census that, on one sheet, includes two 4g gfs, two 6g uncles (one also a 5g uncle-in law), two 5g gfs, and three or four others I know are kin but can't ID yet. #genealogy
