#EdMcBain’s
Yesterday’s #BookMail was the next case in #EdMcBain’s 87th Precinct series. Coming to the end, with only a handful to go. First installment I can recall that didn’t open with a dead body on Page One. A drug deal? Outside the US? Bring it on.

#BookMail, Part One. Needed the next installment in #EdMcBain’s 87th Precinct series, but had to go the eBay route because I think this book is out of print? Only other time I came across this was with DOLL, if I remember right.

Back to #EdMcBain’s 8-7. After disliking the last two installments, I was pleasantly surprised with THE BIG BAD CITY. Two interesting new cases as well as a callback to a previous storyline made for some great action. Plenty of twists, humor, and unique characters. Good stuff!

The #BookMail concludes with a late entry in #EdMcBain’s 87th Precinct series. I already own the e-book, and tried reading it earlier this year, but it’s a mess of spelling and grammar mistakes. Just couldn’t do it anymore. Hoping the hardcover is a cleaner read.

Farewell then, Robert McGinnis. He wasn't the first artist on #EdMcBain's #87thPrecinct series of books, but from the second printing of the early stories in the early sixties, and going forward, he was used.

Look how dynamic this is. Absolute glamour, absolute shock.

Back to #EdMcBain’s 8-7 with Nocturne, a book that reminds me why I like the earlier installments in the series more than these later entries. A couple of interesting cases, but the story is too bloated and leans heavily into sadism at one point. Not a fave, unfortunately.
