Drem to Gullane Path – local landowner confirms support
A neighbouring landowner at Fenton Barns in East Lothian DC Watson & Sons has issued its support for the 20 year long campaign to create a safer place to walk and cycle from Drem to Gullane. The family run farm business has said it is firmly behind the proposed path - which only needs the agreement of one landowner in East Lothian to become a reality.

#WW2 Locally in East Lothian two Hampden were mistaken for German Dorniers in 1939 and shot down by Spitfires from Drem in a "Friendly fire incident". Both planes ditched in Gullane Bay & a 19 year old Airman LAC Terrance Gibb was killed. Three crew survived. #WorldWarTwo

MSP offers support for Drem-Gullane path
The East Lothian MSP Paul McLennan has written to the leader of East Lothian Council expressing his support for the long-running campaign to create a safe path from Drem-Gullane. Mr McLennan has asked that the council steps up to introduce a safe alternative route between the two villages which would have "substantial" benefits in terms of public safety and active travel.

We welcome @eastlothiancouncil.bsky.social backing the long-running Drem-Gullane Path Campaign!

For 20 years, the off-road trail's been a widely-supported goal. It's surely time to remove any final hurdles & make it a reality? 👟🚲

Sadly it’s unusual these days to see this level of empathy and careful research in articles about active travel! Grateful to the Scotsman for this coverage - Drem➡️Gullane remains a key missing connection and I hope to see firm commitment to it in the next ELC Local Development Plan!
