She was a mentor to a lot of us who got to meet her in person. Such purpose and hard work made her a primatologist who not only just served chimpanzees and other primates but for the rest of us in this world. She'll be greatly missed!😇

Today, she explores the nearby forests with her caregivers, Francine and Godeline, and with young chimpanzees – including Patricia, Djambala, Mouyondzi, and Kevin.

These walks are healing, grounding, and essential to help ZZ grow into the strong gorilla she was meant to be.

You may know Dr. Jane for her work with chimpanzees – but she said that dogs were her favourite animal!

Chimpanzees were too similar to humans, she said, to be her favourite animal. But dogs showed her how animals possess intelligence, personalities, and emotions.

In 1977 she founded the Jane Goodall Institute, expanding from research to global conservation. Her work now protects chimpanzees across Africa through community-centered programs.

THE BREAKTHROUGH: She observed chimpanzees making and using tools - stripping leaves from twigs to fish for termites. Science had defined humans as the only toolmakers.

The exceptional professionals at Tchimpounga took care of her as she healed, and gave her the second chance she deserved.

Anzac grew close with Jeje and Zola, other chimpanzees who had also been rescued as infants.

Today, because of support from people around the world, Anzac is thriving.

She could have gone to savanna and observe chimpanzees and would have made at lead a contribution to science, civilization or society

She wanted to get the chimpanzees from Madagascar, but only one of them was willing to speak on the record.

Oh yes. When she was asked what species was her favorite, Jane Goodall said dogs.

The question was, not chimpanzees?

And she said, no they are too much like us.

What was the most magical part for Dr. Jane? "How like us they were," she said.

She saw chimpanzees "kissing, embracing, holding hands, patting one another, begging for food" – gestures that were generally considered to be human.

Reading her book In the Shadow of Man, about the work she was doing with chimpanzees, inspired me to do a degree in Zoology. I still have the book. Fantastic human being

Really appreciated her comment that chimpanzees like people have their bad ones. She went on to say dogs are so much better then people and chimpanzees. (From memory here, so not accurate).

I wish Jane Goodall (RIP) were still alive, so she could use Trump as an example of how similar we are, not only genetically but also behaviorally, to our cousins the chimpanzees. “No Kings” clearly rattled Trump, so his volatile chimp ego compels him to fling his feces in a dominance display.

Thank you for reminding me she thought she needed to start a fake charity for the underprivileged chimpanzees of the Congo or that would be a humorous line in her writtten oped about why Vanderbilt rejected her college application

Scientist, animal rights activist and an extraordinary revolutionary. Above all, though, Jane Goodall showed us what chimpanzees can teach us about human nature. She should be an inspiration for us all, says Chris Knight

Greta Braun followed up right?

She brought up the fact that vance’s mentally enfeebled boss has been promising inferior maga chimpanzees TrumpCare for a decade now.

Surly that nazi reporter did this right?

Surly she isn’t just a whore for her maga bosses.

Surly she’s a journalist right?
