LiDAR difference map of the #ChilcotinLandslide, flown by Brian Menounos and @hakaiinstitute.bsky.social system shows about 6x10^6 m3 of change. Will be very interesting to see how this is incised as the flood begins in the coming days.

A landslide last week in Farwell Canyon, south of #WilliamsLake, dammed the #ChilcotinRiver and created a lake about 11 kilometres long behind the slide.
Water started flowing over the top of the landslide on Monday:

#ChilcotinLandslide flood has passed Fraser River at Big Bar gauge, peaking at 3640 m3/s. On L is an annotated hydrograph for past week. On R is the same but for the past 365 days. We were lucky that Fraser was at historically low levels!
