The quirky Six Poor Folk pub, 25 Castlegate, Knaresborough, N. Yorks & its associated blue plaque. Parts of the building date back to 1500; most is early 17th century with 19th & 20th century alterations. In a survey of 1611 it was a hospital/almshouse for six poor folk, hence its current name. /1

Interestingly shaped former Castle Hotel, 23 Castlegate, Knaresborough, N. Yorks which is now the Castle Inn pub. Originated in the mid 18th century, 4 storeys, rendered with a slate roof. It has a possible 19th century extension with 20th century alterations. It was Grade 2 listed in 1952.
