#CalyxOS
Looks like #android, smells like Android, but doesn't steal like corporate Android. #CalyxOs. Stop the steal!! But like it's real!

After building my own PC, installing CalyxOS on my Android phone, and diving into the world of Linux, the thought of side-loading an app on the Supernote didn’t seem so crazy.

GrapheneOS and CalyxOS are very different. GrapheneOS is a hardened OS with major privacy/security improvements:

CalyxOS is not hardened. It greatly reduces security vs. AOSP with attack surface, a weakened security model and slow patches. It's missing current patches.

Installed CalyxOS on my Pixel 4a phone to extend its life — now it's on Android 14 ⭐️

The vanilla "stock" Android that came with the Google phone stalled at 13 since the company refuses to update its 2020 phones beyond a measly three-year mark 😡

Yeah I had it at 58 secs since I knew the limitation but I am still stuck with audio cutting within the first second.

Based on my experimenting it may be my default camera app being crap. I use CalyxOS so it is some FOSS AOSP thing.

If using an End of Life device already then to a degree yes although to a lesser one than is ideal.

However even with that said, moving those devices from DivestOS to LineageOS, /e/OS or CalyxOS would mean giving up a bunch of privacy and security features they ported from GrapheneOS.

I did something for a couple weeks I never thought I'd do: I test drove GrapheneOS. It's a decent OS and the developers have addressed every complaint I've had with it when I first tested it over 4 years ago, but I'd rather go back to @calyxos. Who I see recently released their own web installer […]

Chirayu Desai was a full time employee of Copperhead. The CEO intended for him to be lead developer of a new closed source OS forked from our project. Nicolas Merrill was in active contact with Copperhead and wanted an OS made for Calyx. When the takeover failed, he hired Chiyaru to make CalyxOS.

Verified boot signing keys can't be rotated. Their plan to change all of the signing keys will require reinstalling the OS to continue receiving updates. Nicolas Merrill was the sole person with access to CalyxOS signing keys. Either he isn't handing over the signing keys or they don't trust him.

People should get rid of the apps on their phones and use the browser instead, better yet use GrapheneOS or CalyxOS and use browser. Reclaim your privacy today. Make sure your phone has ongoing security updates. Regularly check your device settings and scan for malware.
A warning to protect yourself. Ice can now access your phone with Spyware

GrapheneOS and CalyxOS are very different. CalyxOS isn't in the same space as GrapheneOS but rather is similar to LineageOS, /e/OS and iodéOS with lots of code shared with LineageOS. GrapheneOS is a hardened OS with substantial privacy/security improvements:

@odawgie while making a switch, maybe consider an alternative OS and de-Google?
For example #calyxos which is compatibel with Pixel phones.
