#BCJ の定演、今回はJ.S.バッハ: クリスマス・オラトリオBWV248(全曲)です。
メインのクリスマス・オラトリオは、全6部すなわちカンタータ6曲分に相当する分量を、一度に続けて演奏すると言う、意欲的な試みです。3時間超の長丁場ですが、音楽そのものが極めて多種多様な曲調を含み聴かせどころも多く、最初から最後まで引き付けられ続けました。

We all know the 1st cantata from the Christmas Oratorio BWV248. This is the 2nd. Now I'm back in sheep country, the bit in the paddocks is appropriate. (And yes, you could sneak the 1st section of this into Beethoven's 6th with the right direction!)

クリスマスのクラシックと言えば、何をおいてもこれです。バッハ「クリスマスオラトリオBWV248」。チャイコフスキー「くるみ割り人形」もクリスマスの音楽ではありますが、クリスチャンである私は、これを聴かないと、クリスマスを迎えた気がしません。

動画は、この種の音楽であればこの人しかいないと言えるほどの、カール・リヒターの名演奏です。グンドゥラ・ヤノヴィッツにクリスタ・ルートヴィヒと、歌手陣も最高です。

この曲を聴きながら、今日は穏やかな夜を過ごします。皆様も良いクリスマスをお過ごしください。
