The rather unusual cover of the Polonez brochure shows that a 5-speed gearbox was sufficiently unusual at the start of the '80s to deserve top billing. FSO cars were imported into France by Chardonnet, a firm which also handled the Autobianchi A112 and the Zastava 101.

The Autobianchi Bianchina was sold from 1957 to 1970, and based on the Fiat 500 with the same 479cc engine. Like the 500, very few were sold in the U.S. and easily identified by larger, mandated 7” headlamps like this Trasformabile model. This Bianchina bodystyle was the only one with suicide doors.

Factoid: Fiat’s OHC transverse engine developed for the 128 & the 2nd transverse unit with an end-on gearbox from Fiat (the 1st was for the Autobianchi Primula).
A lively, rev-happy unit, it was quite the contrast to the A-Series with its low down torque (itself an engine with its own advantages)…

Non mi invento nulla. Una volta un modello sostituiva al volo un altro, ma la 127 è del 1972 e la 500 (nella sua versione R) è uscita di produzione nel 1975 o 1977 se consideriamo la versione Station Wagon prodotta da Autobianchi.
