achilles4idaho: Day one of the Idaho Session. First meeting of the Idaho House State Affairs Committee. So, what do you think the first priority was? Addressing housing affordability? Addressing healthcare access? Nope. They spent the first day speaking on how to abolish gay marriage. Let me be clear: marriage is a right that belongs to every loving couple in this state. Instead of focusing on the actual issues affecting everyday Idahoans-like rising rents, high grocery bills, and healthcare freedoms-the GOP decided this was their top priority. To our LGBTQ+ community: I see you. I hear you. And I am sorry that I let you down. I want you to know, that as long as I'm here, I will stand up for you. Your rights, your families, your dignity-these aren't up for debate. You deserve leaders who fight for inclusion, equality, and respect. I deeply regret that my vote did not reflect the trust and expectations of the constituents who elected me to serve and represent everyone in our district. Love, commitment, and family are values that unite us, and it is clear that my actions fell short of embracing those principles for all Idahoans. As your representative, I believe we should focus on what actually matters to you and your family. Affordability. Opportunities for our kids. Safer, healthier communities. That's why I'm here.
