I was interviewed at AGU25 and asked what I liked most about being part of the #AGU. Without hesitation, I replied: the feeling of belonging.
This year, I was deeply honored to receive the Horton Research Grant. A recognition I share with an inspiring group of scientists whose work I greatly admire.

A funny thing about the #AGU25 American Geophysical Union conference last week was how many scientists and other environmental scholars I talked to, who, when the conversation turned to what we were reading for pleasure, started raving about how great @emilystjams.bsky.social's _Woodworking_ is.

Chris Piecuch shows how the rate of sea-level rise along the US coast has doubled since 1900, from 2 cm to 4 cm per decade. It has risen by 40 cm by now.
Here he briefly explains this (and how the DOE claimed the opposite) at the AGU25 meeting last week.

I know I shouldn't be, but still surprised that a city as big as NOLA only has one airport-downtown bus/90min. So took an Uber $36 for 14mi to #AGU25.
Now in 🇩🇪 for the holidays and walked to the airport's station. $47 for 170mi in 1st class, a train every few min. Can we have this in US too please?
