Thomasin McKenzie is a powerhouse in this film. No wonder she's going from strength to strength. #100Over100

Whew! Nearly went the whole month without #100over100 but I'm finally watching SEVEN SAMURAI today! One of 12 films with a 100% approval rating from over 100 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

#100Over100 as the credits roll, let's look back at this documentary. It charts the course of a crime, from planning to execution, giving us profiles of the individuals involved.
But the crime is not some self-serving theft or the greater-good murder of a CEO. It's the most ridiculous circus act.

#100Over100 it made me think of anarchy. Anti-authoriarianism. Freedom in the ridiculous. If you search "wirewalking as anarchy", this is what comes up: www.friendlyanarchist.com/poetic-terro...

I think it's apt.
Poetic Terrorism
Here’s a question: If you put up a tightrope between two of the highest buildings in the world and tried to walk from one building to the next – how far would you get? A frenchman who did jus…

I've been very quiet today bc I've been writing, and now we're settling in just under the wire to watch this month's #100Over100, Leave No Trace.

#100over100 Gloria is the queen of bad decisions and I love it. This is a movie for messy bitches XD

#100over100 the samurai approach the bandits with the mentality of "what can we best protect, and how can we do it?" But this causes friction with outlying villagers, whose houses that puts in danger.
As the samurai point out, it's war. The lives of the individuals matter more than their property.

First takeaway from this: I'm obsessed with the way the Australian pronounces his name "Fleep". #100Over100

#100over100 Seven Samurai. A very long movie which deserves every minute of its runtime. The build-up is solid, the last hour is just about all action, and every scene serves to build character and forward the story. It's a well-deserved 100%

#100over100 Final verdict: Gloria was fun! It's a good film - I'll be honest, it feels a little thin compared to what's come before on this list, but it builds its story subtly and paints a portrait of autumn romance and loneliness.

As we near the end of the month, it occurs to me I've not mentioned #100Over100 this month.

It was Toy Story 2. I watched it on March 1st and it was, naturally, perfect :3

What more need be said? :P

God bless Dan the medic. First instance of someone who understands Will and what he's going through and knows how to help.
Aside from free socialised healthcare, what we really need is ~understanding~ healthcare. #100Over100

#100over100 seriously. There's like, two "proper" fights before the final battle? Maybe 3?
The first is Kambei's intro moment, saving a child and killing a bandit.
The second is Kyuzo's duel with a petulant swordsman.
After that... nothing, until they get to the village. It's all buildup.

Okay well that was very solid, a film about the failings of America's social care system, but also about survival, isolation, and building a life for oneself when you grate against society's expectations. #100Over100

#100Over100 damn. That wire is THIN. There's nothing to it, a quarter mile up it barely shows up on film!

This month's #100Over100 is Man on Wire, a 2000 documentary about Philippe Petit's attempt to wirewalk between the two towers of the World Trade Centre. It's brilliantly shot so far, they tell it like a heist movie.

This is RottenTomatoes' most reviewed movie to hold the 100% rating. It's certainly captivating. #100Over100

#100Over100 Guy Tozzoli is the most New York guy to ever New York.

We need more crimes like this again. Where are my tightrope-walking trespassers these days?! Just silly nonsense crimes for fun and personal achievement!
